The Bestiary Leg
Overseers

Overseers play a central role in Hell’s ascension, namely, direct “management” of human capital. While possessed of human or better intelligence, overseers are more animalistic than one would assume, given their significant intellect. Overseers come in two varieties:
- Variety 1: Hellborn. Hellborn overseers are twisted creatures born of malice and hatred. They can take many forms, and are partial to those that combine human features with animalistic elements, but all share the ability to cloak themselves in shadows, the better to observe their human charges.
- Variety 2: Secondment/Deputization. Seconded/deputized overseers were, at one point, humans. They forsook their mortal form and most of their reason in a bid for more power or better standing. Seconded/deputized overseers are almost always more vicious than their hellborn counterparts, partly because they are always looked down on by their infernal compatriots.
Mating/Reproduction: While the creation of seconded/deputized overseers is well established (voluntary corruption of the soul, followed by mutilation of the flesh), little is known of how hellborn overseers reproduce. Some claim they are the sterile offspring of imps and devas, while others say they are negative emotions made flesh (albeit monstrous flesh that is not always corporeal).
Instructions
Leg 24 – The Bestiary Leg: Write an entry in a bestiary. (Yeah, the fun one, for the Beast.)
You can describe one creature’s habitat, its diet, its entire behaviour, its mating habits, and so on. Someone writing this has either seen the thing, or it is grounded in the myth (made-up or not). A bestiary can also include aliens and more.
Illustrations welcome, as always, if you have time, but they aren’t absolutely required.
